British Columbia City Planning

The British Columbia City Planning (BCCP) committee provides an unparalleled experience that engages novice and experienced delegates alike. The committee is a government advisory board that comprises of a diverse array of government officials, community representatives, and representatives from the private sector, all of whom collaborate to inform and improve the development of public policy in real time.

Unlike the typical MUN committee, the BCCP committee will follow a distinct set of rules of procedure, which is similar to that of the House of Commons. Delegates are expected to fulfill their respective roles as advisors by scrutinizing current policies and to produce the final product of a comprehensive Metro Vancouver area map that reflects upon the agreed-upon measures and reform that provides a tangible output for the committee’s discussions. By simulating the workings of a government advisory board, delegates gain valuable insights into the intricate process of urban planning and policymaking processes.
